I am doing the bio-identical progesterone cream you had recommended after the hysterectomy. I have never had hot flashes and most the other ailments of menopause just pesky fibroids. Can you recommend a good source for the DIM, and can it be taken while doing the progesterone cream.
Thanks,
Kay
Di-indolyl-methane is known as DIM. It is the active form of indole-3-carbinol or I3C. I3C is found in some vegetables like Brussels sprouts, kale, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, etcetera. Our body changes that I3C into DIM and activates it to work. Cooking the vegetables greatly reduces absorption of the I3C. The best to get your DIM is in supplement form.
DIM works by removing excess estrogens. We know this because when women took about 100mg of DIM, the estrogens in their urine increased. The exact mechanism of how it removes the estrogens is unknown. The most plausible reason is that it may act like a very mild estrogen, blocking out the stronger estrogens, causing the body to remove the excess, stronger estrogens.
Overall, it just shifts our hormones into a more beneficial profile. It’s not like taking supplemental hormones, but it helps a little. It’s what people would call a natural supplement that helps with hormone balance.
The dosing is 100 to 200mg a day.
The source that I recommend for all my supplements is DaVinci Labs. The DIM product I recommend from them is called DIM PLEX. Just search for it in their search box.
The progesterone cream is 2% which is 20mg per gram of cream. Progesterone is a twice a day hormone because it lasts about 12 hours. Use 10mg of progesterone applied to inner wrists twice a day.
You can use both the DIM and P4 cream together with no problem.

I read that using 40mg per day of progesterone during literal
Faze when progesterone is being naturally made by the body is too low. My doctor recommended 150mg of progesterone cream during this faze. Please advise
