How to more than double your testosterone without taking testosterone

Rhd0t.qxdYes, it’s true.  A recent study shows free testosterone increased from 99 ng/dl to 207 ng/dl in a group of men without taking any testosterone.

As men age, testosterone level decreases and estrogen levels increase.  This may contribute to many of the physical and psychological changes that occur beginning around age 35.  Bringing the testosterone level up and reducing the increased effects of estrogens have shown to be tremendously beneficial.

In the body, estrogens are produced from testosterone.  An enzyme called aromatase converts your testosterone into your estrogens to supply your body with the needed estrogens.  As men age, we get better and better at this conversion.  Therefore, less testosterone and more estrogens.

Taking a prescription medication called anastrazole will block much of this conversion.  Anastrazole blocks the aromatase enzyme.  Think of it as highway traffic.  As testosterone is moving down the “highway,” some of it exits off the exit ramp and is converted into estrogens.  Taking anastrazole blocks the exit, so more testosterone is on the “highway.”  Blocking all the exit ramps is not the right way either as we all need some estrogen.

Anastrazole is approved for women only with certain types of breast cancer.  Increasing testosterone in men is known as an off-label use.

Men in this study who took 1mg of anastrazole daily increased their free testosterone 109% (99 to 207 ng/dl) and decreased estradiol 35% (26 to 17 pg/ml).  Men who took 1mg of anastrazole twice a week increased their free testosterone 54% (115 to 178 ng/dl) and decreased estradiol 35% (27 to 17 pg/nl).

It is a decision between you and your doctor to determine whether on not testosterone replacement therapy is right for you.

When taking testosterone, a man should be taking anastrazole to combat the conversion.  It makes sense since there will be more testosterone on the “highway” that can be converted.

  2. Interesting article. My testosterone is only 200 but my DHT although not DHTS is midrange and I have no low testosterone symptoms. I take L-Argi.125nine,Pregnenolone,Pycnogenol,Icariin, etc. and had been using HcG 0.125 cc from a premixed 11 thousand unit bottle of HcG. I had been injecting once per week and my recent LH levels are mid range.

I do like the testosterone effect and have taken Zinc to help block the estrogen conversion and my estrogens were all low normal on my recent testing.

With no symptoms of low T what should I do in my situation relative to testosterone .
Thanks and interesting approach to blocking testicular atrophy with testosterone.

What is your preferred form of testosterone supplementation and what delivery system do you recommend?

    Thanks
